Brakes Gold Coast
Brakes are one of the most important safety features on your vehicle. Over time your brake pads and rotors will wear down.
Most brake pads will have a wear indicator that is built into the pad. When the pads are worn down to this indicator the pads will make noise when being applied. This is an indicator to bring your vehicle in to have the brakes checked.
A part of our servicing process, our fully qualified mechanics will check your brake pads and rotors and give you an indication of how many kms are left on the pads. (Depending on driving style)
Brake pads work when the brake pad is applied to the rotor. When replacing brake pads you will either require a rotor disc machine or a rotor replacement.
Machining evens the surface of the rotor to allow the pad to contact the rotor evenly. Uneven rotors will wear through pads unevenly and quickly.
The machining of the rotor can be carried out if the rotor is above the minimum rotor thickness of the vehicle. (Thickness varies from vehicle to vehicle)
The mechanic will be able to advise you if a rotor replacement is required.
