Ask us today about Online Safety Certificates (ICO Inspection certificate online).
Our workshop is able to complete the inspection online (ICO) and this may save you the line up at the Queensland Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre.
It can also give you peace of mind that the vehicle is transferred out of your name at the time you complete the sale of the vehicle. This can be done online on weekends or week nights.
The electronic system allows you to transfer vehicle ownership online between private owners. (Excludes new registrations)
There are circumstances that do not allow you to complete this online.

A Safety Certificate is valid for:
2 months or 2,000kms whichever one comes first for a private sale
3 months or 1,000kms for dealers
If there are any repairs required on the vehicle in order to pass the inspection the Queensland Transport and Main Roads allow you 14 days to have any repairs completed.
Our workshop can provide an obligation free quote for all repairs.
Once the repairs have been completed within the 14 days the vehicle is returned to our workshop to be signed off and have the completed Safety Certificate issued. There is no charge for the re-inspection at the workshop.
HVRAS (Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme) otherwise referred to as a measure up is required for all new registrations for trailers with an ATM over 750kg.
A Safety Certificate Inspection is only a basic check that the vehicle meets the minimum standard set by the Transport Department.
Queensland Transport and Main Roads advise you to not rely solely on a Safety Certificate and to have a Pre-Purchase Inspection completed on the vehicle before purchasing.
Our workshop completes Pre-Purchase Inspections on all makes and models. The inspection includes a check over how mechanically sound the vehicle is. A verbal and written report is presented to the buyer. This information can be emailed and the report given over the phone if the buyer is interstate or unable to be present at the time of inspection. The report also includes photos of the vehicle, especially defects that will be discussed in the report.
