Fuel systems require maintenance on a regular basis and issues with this system can cause the vehicle to have serious problems.
Here is a list of the most common fuel system problems.
Fuel filter blocked/dirty
Regular servicing will help eliminate this issue as the filter is checked as part of a safety check.
If you realise you have put the wrong fuel in your vehicle DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. Have the vehicle towed into our workshop and have the fuel tank removed and cleaned.
If you have been unfortunate enough to realise that you have put the wrong fuel in the vehicle because it has come to a complete stop after fuelling up, you could possibly be looking at a complete engine replacement. The fuel goes through many components of the engine and may be unable to be salvaged at that point.
Algae/Bug in fuel tank
A bad batch of fuel can grow into an ongoing problem with your fuel system if there are algae in your fuel tank. The algae will keep growing if it is untreated. Ask us about available treatment options.
